I want you to inform others to carry their text books for the medicine classes from now on. I want to project some questions like the ones you had in your exams and see you discuss them after reading about them then and there in the class room. What do you think? Its a new way of taking the theory class which can be other wise boring
Its kind of combining SDL with lecture
4:55 PM Karen: sir, do u mean bringing text book for medicine class on Wed and Thurs
4:57 PM me: Yes bring the text books so that you can read in and during the class itself
Karen: well it is possible but usually we wont fin the theory class very early and doing SDL Qs will take some time for all of us to read frm the text book
the idea sounds good but not sure if it will b really practical
4:58 PM me: Whatever time spent in that manner shall be profitable.
Karen: but most of the time we fin class just before time..
me: Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes for each question actually . Maybe that's another thing you all shall learn. Fast fact finding and reading
Karen: honestly speaking...we can grab much in the class
4:59 PM but giving notes r good...
is it possible if we have an overview and lectures just explain the must know n topics whc nds understanding
me: Maybe you meant can't and giving notes aren't good
5:00 PM Karen: ths way will fin class earlier and we can do more case discussion
noooo...
me: Yes thats what we will possibly end up doing in this new kind of lectures
Karen: giving notes are good for us to read
but mos of the time we tend to sit n copy and NOT listening
5:01 PM for example...mayb for one topic we can just list out the etiology...symptoms and signs..investigation n treatment in a brush thru way
me: That's why giving notes aren't good
5:02 PM Karen: thn we can discuss cases or try to apply it in solving cases
notes are good for us to read b4 exams
to flip thru n read thru
me: The idea is to get you all to think more in the class rather than just listen and sleep
Get you more involved
Karen: as its very hard to read frm text book
me: Actually ext books aren't that hard to read if one knows the technique
5:03 PM Karen: its difficult sir
me: So that's the other thing we can learn how to read text books in the most efficient manner
Once learnt it may not be
Karen: perhaps thn...
5:04 PM but class notes r still imp

besides case discussion
5:05 PM me: Good that I met with the strongest resistance before I began this new thing. However lets see how it works out. Lets give it a try before we reject it altogether
Karen: yupe sure
will let othrs knw bout it
is it only for ur classes or same goes for Dr. Mohit's classes?
5:06 PM me: Only for mine to start with
Karen: how to knw whn r u coming in sir?
5:07 PM as sometimes its not the same timing
5:08 PM me: Nowadays I shall be coming only on thurdays for lecture classes but anyway all you ahve to do is to carry your medicine textbooks for both the wed and thursdays.
Karen: sir its too heavy

but should b fine for Wed and Thurs
5:09 PM me: Good physical exercise along with mental
Karen: hahaha...
5:10 PM anyways i think its a good idea provided we can finish the class theory part fast n do sdl Qs
5:11 PM me: Otherwise it can continue online. In all the theory classes we actually just begin the chapter which can only end with the end of our medical careers. Throughout our lives we need to revise the chapters that we begin
5:12 PM Karen: yes thts true...but sometimes its quite difficult to read all hand in hand whn we r in some other postings...as we nd to catch up for lotsa topics too...but its not impossible tho..
