My mother (71 years old) went into the hospital early Monday morning after aspirating, she was weak, shaky and couldn't catch her breath. Ma mère (71 ans) est passé à l'hôpital lundi matin, après aspiration, elle était faible, fragile et ne peut pas attraper son souffle. It was the 5th time since mid December that she has aspirated and they finally admitted her (She was hospitalized 2 years ago for the same thing - aspiration Pneumonia). Il a été la 5e fois depuis la mi Décembre qu'elle a aspiré et ils ont finalement admis son (Elle a été hospitalisée il ya 2 ans pour la même chose - la pneumonie d'aspiration).
For the last 5 years or so she has lost her voice (she speaks in a whispered tone) due to a paralized left vocal chord. Pour les 5 dernières années ou si elle a perdu sa voix (elle parle dans un ton chuchoté) en raison d'un paralized corde vocale gauche. She had a scope done and the doctor was unable to figure out a cause and wanted to schedule another procedure so he could see behind the vocal chords, but she declined. Elle a fait un champ d'application et le médecin n'a pas été en mesure de déterminer une cause et je voulais le calendrier d'une autre procédure pour qu'il puisse voir derrière les cordes vocales, mais elle a diminué. She has also had a violent cough for as long as I can remember (30 years) and she always mentioned that she felt like her throat was breaking. Elle a également eu une violente toux aussi longtemps que je puisse me souvenir (30 ans) et elle a toujours indiqué qu'elle se sentait comme elle a été la gorge de rupture. She hasn't had a stroke to the best of our knowledge and none of the doctors have suggested that at any point. Anyway, she has had a few tests done in the past couple of days and they've come to two possible conclussions, either she has Histoplasmosis (swelling and calcifiying of the lymph nodes) which may be adding pressure to a nerve that controls the vocal chords (or resting against her vocal chords) or she has Myasthenia Gravis which is causing her to aspirate, lose her voice, sense of smell, etc. Now they did say that she has the calcified nodes, but they aren't sure if one of them is causing her current problem. Quoi qu'il en soit, elle a eu un peu de tests effectués dans le passé quelques jours et ils ont à présent deux conclussions possible, soit elle a Histoplasmose (gonflement et calcifiying des ganglions lymphatiques), qui mai ajouter à la pression d'un nerf qui contrôle le vocal accords (ou de repos à son encontre cordes vocales) ou elle a de myasthénie grave qui est à l'origine de son aspirer à, perdre sa voix, le sens de l'odorat, etc Maintenant, ils l'ont fait dire qu'elle a la calcifié noeuds, mais ils ne sont pas sûrs si l'on d'entre eux est à l'origine de son problème actuel.
My question is, if it's Myasthenia Gravis, what can be done to treat that? Ma question est, si c'est de myasthénie grave, ce qui peut être fait que pour traiter? And if it is related to the calcified nodes, is that something that could be removed to improve her speech, ablity to swallow, etc? Et si elle est liée à la calcification de noeuds, c'est que quelque chose qui pourrait être enlevée pour améliorer son discours, ablity à avaler, etc?
