Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are divided into: Síndromes coronarios agudos (ACS) se dividen en:
1. STEMI - ST E levation MI - the classical MI STEMI - ST E levation MI - MI clásico
2. NSTEMI - N on- ST E levation MI .\ IMSEST - N-ST en levation E MI. \
3. UA - U nstable A ngina UA - U nstable A Ngina

STEMI is when there is a transmural infartion of the myocardium - which just means that the entire thickness of the myocardium has undergone necrosis - resulting in ST elevation.
