Hi,
I was asked to fill out a table in anatomy, but I’m having trouble finding any information. Was wondering if anyone would be able to help with the answers or perhaps point to a good neuroanatomy source for information  (I’ve already tried Snell’s)?

For each of somatic motor fibres, somatic sensory fibres and sympathetic motor fibres I was asked to fill in:
- Are the fibres myelinated?
- Where is the cell body of the neurone located?
- What is the shape of the nerve cell (e.g. bipolar, multipolar, etc)?
- Where are the nerve impulses initiated that travel in these fibres? (e.g. nerve ending, cell body – give location)
- What is the neurotransmitter substance released from the nerve fibre ending?

So far all I’ve really worked out is that they are all myelinated and both somatic motor and sympathetic motor fibres release acetylcholine. Any help would be fantastic.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

You might have as well finished your assignments by now. However, do you know the that the entire Gray's anatomy text book with all illustrations is available free on the Net? See it here: Gray's Anatomy.

Education is not to reform students or amuse them or to make them expert professionals. It is to unsettle their minds, widen their horizons, inflame their intellects, teach them to think straight, if possible.
